Fantail Cricket is an independent cricket, clothing and lifestyle brand based in Auckland, New Zealand, built around a belief in craft, considered design and making things well.

Founded by Blake Shattock in 2015, Fantail began in a small garage in St Heliers, Auckland, with a simple ambition: to make exceptional cricket bats by hand. Surrounded by the native birds of the area, the Fantail became a familiar presence around the workshop. Friendly, curious, and distinctly New Zealand, it became the brand's natural emblem.

What began at a workbench has gradually grown into something much broader. Today, Fantail operates from its flagship store and workshop on Dominion Road in Mt Eden, serving a loyal community of cricketers in New Zealand and around the world.

As Fantail Cricket enters its next chapter, that same approach to craft is beginning to take new forms.

Fantail Cricket Atelier extends the philosophy of the workshop beyond the cricket field. The Atelier is our considered range of clothing and objects for life off the pitch, pieces designed with the same attention to material, proportion, detail and longevity that has always informed our cricket equipment. Our opening collection introduces a small range of everyday pieces, including the F-Block cap and heavyweight washed hoodie, with future collections continuing to explore the relationship between sport, craft, design and everyday life.

Alongside the Atelier, our Mt Eden flagship will also become home to Fantail Cricket Coffeerie, a specialty coffee house built within the world of Fantail. More than simply an addition to the store, the Coffeerie is intended to become a meeting place: somewhere to stop for a carefully made coffee, spend time, talk cricket, discover the latest Atelier pieces or simply be part of the community surrounding the brand.

Cricket remains at the heart of Fantail, but it no longer defines its boundaries.

Whether shaping a cricket bat, developing a garment or making a coffee, the principle is much the same: choose good materials, respect the process, pay attention to the details and create something worth returning to.

From a garage in St Heliers to our home in Mt Eden and increasingly to customers and around the world. Fantail Cricket continues to evolve, while remaining rooted in craft.
