HENRY CAMERON

  • LEVEL 2 NZC COACH
  • CENTRAL AUCKLAND

ABOUT HENRY

Henry’s coaching journey began with junior cricketers in Wairarapa while representing the region. A move to Poverty Bay meant his first full time coaching role as Youth Development Officer. He continued to play and was lucky enough to experience cricket in the UK.

Fast forward to the last five years when he moved to Adelaide. He continued to play and coaching in the competitive Australian environment. At the beginning of the Pandemic Henry moved to Auckland and begun as head coach of Parnell woman’s cricket. Since then he has been selected for roles with Eastern Districts Cricket Association and more recently to be part of the Auckland Cricket high-performance program as an Academy coach.

Henry also has a strong background in health and fitness. He has been running his own personal training business for the last four years. This has given him greater insight into how to create performance out of athletes and in particular cricketers.

My coaching philosophy is to create an enjoyable learning environment where athletes are challenged to be their best. If an athlete enjoys their training, then they are more likely to learn and improve to be the best they can be.

Currently having a NZC Level 1 coaching qualification, Sam has a keen interest in developing existing and implementing new skills and ideas into player's games in either individual or group settings.
