Traditional Raw Linseed oil for the preparation and maintenance of your cricket bat
50ml Glass bottle of Fantail Raw Linseed Oil
Instructions for use:
For standard bats:
If the bat is brand new it may have a coat of polish on it if this is the case give the bat a light sand with a fine grit sandpaper.
Before use apply a light coat of raw linseed oil (bat oil) to the face, back edges and toe with the fingers and palm of the hand or a lint free cloth. Wipe off any excess oil after and lay the bat flat for a few hours to dry.
After 1 or 2 further light coats your bat will be ready for knocking in. Clean the bat using a fine grit sand paper before each application. Repeat occasionally during the season if the bat is dry.
For bats with a facing:
Apply oil as described above, but only to the back, uncovered edges and toe.
For polycoated bats:
No oiling is required, however, during play the poly coating will wear from the toe area and the exposed willow should be lightly oiled as described above.
